GGG vs Canelo Las Vegas Viewing

Where will you be for the GGG vs Canelo rematch on September 15th? Honestly, you should be right here at The Still for our special match viewing party. This closed circuit viewing party will feature TVs throughout the venue to enhance the experience. You’ll get to see the boxing match with your friends and other boxing fans, and this match isn’t one that you should miss.

The First Match

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin fought a highly publicized match last September. With judge Adelaide Byrd ruling Alvarez the victor, judge Dave Moretti ruling Golovkin the winner, and judge Don Trella deeming the match a tie, the match was ultimately declared a draw. Which meant, of course, we needed a rematch to settle the score.

The rematch scheduled for May 5th of 2018 wasn’t to be, though. Alvarez tested positive for Clenbuterol, a performance-enhancing drug, in February. He was suspended for six months, and the fight was canceled.

Golovkin fought Vanes Martirosyan on May 5th and was declared the match winner in two rounds.

The Rematch

Finally, the world is about to get the rematch that we’ve been waiting for. On September 15th, Alvarez and Golovkin will face off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There’s plenty to wonder about with this match. The boxers, who were judged evenly previously, will face each other after a year. Alvarez is coming back after a six-month suspension, and Golovkin has the title of the “greatest middleweight of all time” to defend. The judges selected for this match are sure to have their hands full.
